CLARIFICATION of today’s rumor – NO, Crash Management has NOT been sold to NZI claims!

The use of our company name to label a menu tab on NZI claims site http://www.nzifleetfit.co.nz as “Crash Management” is highly misleading and in no way related to our business! While we certainly manage thousands of NZI claims, we remain New Zealand’s completely independent accident management service and assist all car accident claims regardless which insurer underwrites the cost.

hello NZI – We think the use of our long established company name on your website is a bit cheeky, but hey, they say the best form of flattery is imitation. But – There is only one true Crash Management!

hahaha that’s a laugh. Something wrong at NZI if they can’t come up with their own branding and need to steel yours – your right there’s only one real Crash Management and it’s a lot more user friendly than the giant Aussie IAG corporation !

oh I hadn’t seen that but you’re right, the NZI Fleet Fit site has mis-used the Crash Management name. They need to be made aware, this is not on, and I believe they could be caught by the Fair Trading Act clauses about potential customer confusion (intentional or not) and the passing-off clause. This is very serious and I’m surprised NZI have tried to cash in on the Crash Management name, they should be very familiar Crash by now, we refer our NZI clients to “the real Crash Management” along with all the other major underwriters. Suggest you speak to Ian Taylor at NZI about their mistake.

Whats Fleet Fit Crash Management and whats it got to do with NZI ?

hi Bruce – as far as we can make out Fleet Fit is NZI’s re-branded version of the old Lumley Insurance Torque programme, It’s not full accident management in the sense that Crash Management is, but does organise bits and pieces of the logistical elements of crashes including accident scene clean up and salvage etc. Also it caters only to heavy truck, not cars & light commercials. The point is that NZI has titled one of the FleetFit website pages as Crash Management so I’ve received a few queries from insurance brokers about it – ie has NZI taken over Crash Management – NO THEY HAVE NOT.

So does Fleet Fit Crash Management do the same service as the real Crash Management and so do NZI customers have to use that one instead? (I mean the Fleet Fit Crash Management version)? Sorry but I don’t really understand what you’re saying – is there two different Crash Management’s now depending who your car insurance claim is with?

I’ve read the NZI FleetFit Crash Management page but its not clear – is this the same sort of service as the ‘real’ Crash Management? I understand the NZI FleetFit version is for trucks only but does this service manage the entire vehicle accident from road-side emergency , claims, assessing, repairs and deliver a free replacement vehicle to the driver as per Crash Management does for car insurance claims?

Short answer JJ is no, NZI’s Fleet Fit Cash Management offering in no way compares to the real Crash Management. And free replacement vehicle – sorry NO. Call us on 0800 2CRASH for operational assistance, or to talk to us about how we can help with a fully customised end-to-end-programme if you’re operating a fleet of any size. Thanks for your question.

There is no confusion, there is only one Crash Management. It’s hard to say what NZI are up to using your name?

Good fleet safety ANCAP system info today too, very interesting. Lower car accident claim rates will certainly reduce excesses if clients chose that and should also help keep premiums down though its already a very soft market so I can’t see costs reducing any further. Unless IAG can wind the repair prices down even more when they review panelbeater’s contracts again next year!

Good article in the Company Vehicle mag again Crash, page 27 and online too at https://companyvehicle.co.nz/article/crash-management-101. I see you’re positioned alongside NZI Fleet Fit crash article on p26 – cosey!

Thanks for link and the free publicity Steve! I think we can safely say that positioning of the NZI fleet fit crash management article alongside the REAL Crash Management is entirely co-incidental. You know what they say though – imitation is the most sincere form of flattery – thanks NZI!

What’s wrong with insurance companies these days?! You’s in the Herald today guilty of 15 fraud cases and fined $300k, and NZI’s steeling your stuff – ha, pun intended. It was a good TV add until everyone worked out that NZI is owned by the Ozzies! Now they’ve nicked the Crrash Management brand. Shame NZI claims!

More bad publicity for NZI claims in the PanelTalk this month. Theres an article written by David Crawford the boss at Motor Industry Association about NZIs email sent to all NZI preferred repairs (not us, we don’t play the losers game) specifying USED PARTS for cars older than two years. This is unbeleavable! The same article says IAG Australia confirmed at the same time that they recommend NEW PARTS in Aussie, but it’s junk USED PARTS for NZ! This is bad for repairers, bad for customers, but makes for much cheaper repairs for NZI claims. They haven’t said anything about the safety problems caused by used parts either or the much longer labour times involved for panelbeaters which is NOT paid for by NZI. They also don’t realise its now impossible to unpick most weld-on parts on used structural sections, and the labour times doubled – whose paying for that? Not NZI claims & assessors that’s fore sure. More corporate bully tactics from NZI and State insurance and another nail in the coffin for quality NZ panelbeaters !
